Backlit Fall Thistles

Posted by
Barbara Lee (Oakland, United States) on 8 January 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Ok, I'm thinking warm this week! This is am image I made early in December on a trip to the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge to see the thousands of migrating geese, ducks, and swans. They were amazing, but oh, so hard to photograph. This turns out to be one of my favorite images of the weekend. It never ceases to amaze me how often we photographers leave on a particular mission, only to see something quite different and wonderful.
