Jurassic Fig

Posted by
Barbara Lee (Oakland, United States) on 10 January 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

This is a shot of the Moreton Fig trees that grow in Allerton Gardens on the island of Kauai'i. The huge roots of this Ficus Macrophylia were used in the filming of the movie Jurassic Park. Do you remember the humans trying to hide from the dinosaurs in their folds? Off for a week cruising in Mexico - we will see what I bring back!

What a great texture shot. Or is it perspective? Hmmm. This one makes me think.
