Pink Tulip

Posted by
Barbara Lee (Oakland, United States) on 30 March 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

I guess I've got tulips on my mind. This one is in my backyard, in a pot. In California, we have to plant them fresh each year - without the snow, the bulbs do not overwinter. So, each fall, I visit Costco and load up and then stick them in pots. They add such a great splash of color to the garden in March!

Beautifully done, the bokeh is an exquisite background. I had never considered that they needed to winter over, that you didn't have enough fall out there to accomplish that. And here mine come back every year. Amazing what we assume is just how it is.
