Little Gold Poppy, Anza Borrego

Posted by
Barbara Lee (Oakland, United States) on 31 March 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

The Little Gold Poppy is a close relative of the California poppy, but much more rare. I spotted this gem on a hiking trail near the Calcite Mine area in Anza Borrego and caught this image.

It is beautiful. I did not expect this flower to grow in the wild, it is too pretty. Great shot too.
