Camden Harbor

Posted by
Barbara Lee (Oakland, United States) on 1 April 2010 in Transportation and Portfolio.

It is cold and rainy today in Oakland, and I am fresh out of tulips. So, I scanned through my files and decided to share this image which I took last August in Maine. I used artistic in-camera motion blur to create this effect of the foggy harbor in Camden. Basically, I moved the camera down while pressing the shutter release to get the motion. Since we do not have to worry about the cost of film anymore, I was able to make lots of exposures, chosing the just right one when back in my digital lab.

This picture sort of reflects how I feel today, a bit out of focus, chilly, and blue. I know that when we get more consistent sunshine that my mood will snap back into focus. In the meantime, I'll stay with this mood, knowing that it will pass....California girls just gotta have sun!
