Riggings on the Tall Ship Peacemaker

Posted by
Barbara Lee (Oakland, United States) on 6 May 2010 in Transportation and Portfolio.

When I was in Wilmington visiting my sister-in-law, we went down to the waterfront of the Cape Fear River. The tall ship Peacemaker was at dock, and they welcomed tours. The story of the construction, deconstruction, and discovery of the rotting wreck of this ship by the Twelve Tribes religious group is quite fascinating. They basically reconstructed it all by hand, one piece at a tiime.

I love ships, and hearing the lines pinging against a mast. Nice capture.

The lines make a very interesting pattern in silhouette.

Nice framing and great sky, Barbara. I like the silhouette of the mast and rigging.

Nice framing, there are plenty of tall ships here in the Netherlands and they make for imposing captures.
