Ok, I have no new photos to post today, so I dug back into my archives and pulled up this one. This image was made three years ago on the east shore of Lake Tahoe, California, in an area known as Sand Harbor. I was trying to capture the golden light at day's end. I waited over two hours for this scene to unfold. Just walking along the shoreline, looking for the right arrangement of rocks, was a meditation in itself. I find that when I get in the right zone, as I did on this day, the whole process of making images is meditative for me. I can get really lost and hours go by.
I had this one printed large on a canvas and hung it in our bathroom. It works well in that space. This summer, I am going to concentrate more on printing up the images I make. I now have an idea - from my Fine Art Digital Printing workshop - about how to make a boxed portfolio. I am itching to start!
