Aspen Reflections in the Carson River

Posted by
Barbara Lee (Oakland, United States) on 26 October 2010 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

I was lucky enough to find this lovely late afternoon aspen reflection while I was walking along the riverbank of the Carson River. Walking along the river bank is a rather loose way to describe what it is like to try to navigate the side of this river. It is more like a scramble - over rocks and boulders, crossing an occasional little beach, but mostly bushwacking your way along the riverbank while staying on the looking for something to photograph. It makes me wish that I had started a more serious study of photography when I was younger!

Absolutely beautiful abstract. The shapes of the leaves makes the reflections really special. I started photography in my twenties, but was not focused on nature initially. I wish we had had digital back then!

@Julie Brown: Me too! I started photography in my 20's also - but put my camera away all those long years of teaching and principaling. I am glad that you are "at it" in spite of your busy teaching schedule. Having digital would have made it so much easier. I used to spend hours on end in my darkroom!
