Purple Haze

Posted by
Barbara Lee (Oakland, United States) on 2 November 2010 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

The light was wonderful the evening I photographed in the Pisgah National Forest. Like a giant soft box in the sky.

What a delicate and powerful image.....so rich in detail and color. The pastel purple and gold go together so nicely. And the leaves and trees are alive and shooting in all directions while still remaining peaceful and serene. Gorgeous. And right in my back yard...............

Barbara this is truly amazing...this is what you caught, right? I know that feeling of disbelief becasue that is what I felt when I caught my fog shots in Seattle a few weeks ago...you see it, but you don't believe what you are seeing so you just fire away! This my dear friend is absolutely spectacular!! I truly love this one...it should be on a wall!

@Denny Jump Photo: Why thank you, Denny! I was blessed with amazing light! It was a soft rain and totally overcast, which means that not only did I get the feeling of fog, but all of the detail in the shadow was brought forward. Yes, this is what I saw!

I love the mystical mood here - some fog, some empty branches - love the way you composed the photo! Great and very inspirational!
