I walked for 7 1/2 hours yesterday in the Virgin River, which flows through the Zion Narrows. It was an exhilirating, breathtaking, and very, very tiring day. I wore special dry pants and shoes, and in addition to my tripod, carried a big walking stick. Camera safely stowed away in a dry bag in myh daypack. I cannot count the number of times I opened that dry bag to take the camera out, get it on the tripod, and make another image. And were there images to be made! WOW!
I am one tired but happy woman tonight! Zion has all of my sense on full alert. If you ever get a chance to come here, do it in the fall. The summer crowds are gone, you can drive wherever you want to (they require you to ride a shuttle through Oct. 31) and most of the visitors are other friendly photographers!
