Like Salt Water Taffy

This bit of kelp lying on the rock at Point Lobos made me think of salt water taffy.

This is Point Lobos with tide out? I need to get down there next time we are out there, if I can convince the troops..Perhaps I can entice them with a trip to the Monterey Aquarium and then just happen to accidentially turn onto the 17 Mile Drive.etc etc...At any rate these are really gorgeous images Barbara.....I see Hallway and Bathroom appointments framed beautifully with your exquisite photos and my Son-in-Law's ( he is a Vermont certified craftsman) fabulous maple/birch picture frames...the combo would be to die for.... This is wonderful, Barbara!!!

@Denny Jump Photo: Oh, Denny, you are so flattering! I love your description of where these photos could live! I wish I had wall space here! Actually, it was a very high tide that morning. I worked the exposed area of rock. When the tide is out, there are even more choices! Don Smith, it turns out, was there that afternoon - when there was a very low tide. He says he is going to post his pic on Wed night. So, let's see what he got! I learned yesterday that there is going to be a big minus tide on Dec. 4 - maybe, just maybe, I can get down there, but doubtful, since I need to pick up my sweetie at the airport that afternoon. The California coast is full of wonders!

ps - do you think they would mind if I bring my portable Dyson and suck up those exquisite rocks out of the cracks?? Probably would NOT be a good idea, do ya think??

It has an interesting texture and shape, although I do not know what salt water taffy looks like.
