The cloud forest is amazing. Always at 100% humidity, it is hard to get a good landscape which really shows it off to full advantage. I decided to stop beneath this amazing tree, which seems to be a host to all sorts of vines, and just point the camera skyward. This gives you a pretty good sense of the amazing canopy on the cloud forest, the verdant vegetation everywhere, and the ever-present clouds. This forest is home to a huge variety of epiphytes - a plant that grows on another plant - including more than 500 orchid species. To see the orchids in bloom, one must visit in March, at the height of the rainy season. Rainfall here, on average, is more than 8 feet a year.
