February Green

Posted by
Barbara Lee (Oakland, United States) on 21 February 2011 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

To celebrate today's cease fire from the steady drenching we have had all week, I went on a 7 mile hike in Briones Regional Park. We sloshed through plenty of mud, but were rewarded with amazing views of Mt. Diablo covered with snow and the green, green hillsides. The last part of the hike took us through a dense forested area. I loved the soft light which filtered through the trees, which did a magical job of highlighting the fresh shamrock greens of the mosses and new spring growth.

You did a nice job of capturing the details of the forest. Not easy to do.
