Spring is Here!

Posted by

OK, I am back. I have had a long month or more of being in a sort of "photo funk", but today, I have finally pulled myself out of it. I spent the morning in Redwood Regional Park, just a couple of miles from home, wandering among the new growth that is popping out everywhere. We have had a ton of rain in the past couple of days, and the morning sky was still clouded over, giving me a great big soft box for sweet color. I know that for some of you, this image and the ones in this series that may follow will seem confused and chaotic. To me, it appears as a wonderfully complex illustration of spring. The delicate arch of the branches, the fresh green of the new growth, the mossy trunks.

So, I offer you this blast of green just in time for St. Patrick's Day, and I hope you do enjoy it. There will be more to come. I have again found my muse, mother nature, who is waiting just outside my back door for me to show up with my camera. Yeah! Spring is coming....time for rebirth.

Beautiful image. I like how the green foreground tree stands out against the delicate colors and shapes of the background.

The moss is glorious and the bare branches weave an intricate web. It is an exciting challenge to pull out of the hillsides the order that the eye can discern, but that is difficult to photograph well. This is a good result !!!
You and I are sometimes on the same page, first Mt. Diablo and now the branches in the spring forest.
I will have some of these shots coming up on my blog, too.
Glad mother nature has pulled you out of your photo funk. This shot is a beauty.
