Mesquite Dunes Before Dawn

Here is an image taken 45 minutes before the one I posted yesterday. The "blue hour", that time before dawn and after sunset when everything takes on that wonderful blue cast, is pretty magical. What a difference 45 minutes of light makes!

I too, love seeing that blue light. This image has wonderful textures on both sides of the crest, and it almost looks HDR. Lovely shadows and tones as well.

By the way, Elizabeth Carmel is featured in this month's issue of Outdoor Photographer. One of her images in the magazine is of an autumn sunset at Zion. It is of the same stream and iconic peak in your shot posted on November 4, 2010, but at a different time in the season. I am looking at both images right now, and I must say that I like yours better!
