Orange Alstroemeria

Posted by
Barbara Lee (Oakland, United States) on 18 June 2011 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Well, while Julie was running around the UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens with her big honkin bird lens, I was on the lookout for something to shoot with my 90mm Tamron macro lens. We were there around noon, so it was tough to get some nice open shade, but I finally found this lovely clump of alstroemeria in open shade with little breeze. So, I offer you my one image of he morning in the gardens. Yes, I know it could be sharper! I am sure that Julie will be showing you some wonderful bird pics. I hope she posts the little hummingbird in its nest that we saw!

@Julie Brown: Thanks Julie. It was great to get these flowers in that nice open shade. I need to get back there early some overcast morning. Those are not in short supply all summer!

Man this baby just explodes, Barbara! .... Next time we come out, I now have two bucket list items: (1) is to have David and Lyndsy run me over to Treasue Island and (2) is to check out the UC Berkeley Botannical Garden...good heavens - this image is spectacular! The flowers are so bright and vivid. The thing I REALLY like about this image (did I tell you I like this image?) is hpw they appear to be suspended in space as well as exploding through the screen! Your work is fantastic wonderful and this one is no exception! Just Beautiful!
