No how come MY Rhodies don't come out looking like that!? This is beautiful Barbara! Did you go on Don's workshop or by yourself? Did you use flash? I love Rhodies when they are unopened like this - I have some shots too but they are not clear..(no I was not using the tripod and therein lies the reason) Just beautiful here, Barbara!

the greens here look really great against the dark brown tree trunk! nicely spotted and taken with superb exposure!

The redwood tree bark makes a perfect textural backdrop for the glossy green leaves and the bit of pink from the flowers. The quality of light here has so much depth. It is hard to describe, but it reminds me of how I felt on my first and only visit to the Ho Rainforest at Olympic NP.
