Yellowstone Winter

I have just finished an amazing week of photograpy in Yellowstone. I have looked forward to this trip for a long time, and the combination of light and snow made it perfectly wonderful! In the coming days, I will post a series of images from this outing. The voice that emerges in this portfolio is one of a quiet repose, a stillness and waiting as the park slumbers under its winter blanket of snow.

Years ago we were there with our children during the summer. I remember trees such as these rising from a large pond, and the general surreal quality of the landscape. This image is framed beautifully, showing the various features of this spot. I also like the brightness/whiteness of the snow you have captured. Rather magical. Looking forward to the series!

Barbara, I love, love, love Yellowstone in winter. We did an on-our-own snowmobile trip several years ago - before I had digital cameras, and before a guide or group tour was required. I'm sure your trip was so wonderful and can't wait to see more. I did a little series of scanned images from that trip awhile back - starting here. You sure got may attention with your first shot. Beautiful.
