Swiss Alps

Posted by
Barbara Lee (Oakland, United States) on 8 February 2012 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

OK, I am all over the place. Figuratively and literally. Now I am back into the set of images I made during our hike through the Alps - the Tour du Mont Blanc, that we did back in August. This was our first day in Switzerland. I was impressed (worried?) about the rate at which all the glaciers in the European Alps are melting. It is easily seen in this image.

Beautiful colors and textures captured in the alps! I love how the alps are touching the clouds.

Great shot. The same thing is going on with Glaciers in Alaska, and even Glacier National Park. It is worrisome.

Nice composition. I like the green in the scene. The gravel path of the glacier shows how much has melted.
